If you’re familiar with any of the Alto games, or any other titles with the same relaxing visuals, Laya’s Horizon is definitely right up your alley. Other than that, the game is surprisingly optimized like its predecessors, despite the massive leap in terms of content and visuals. It’s not intuitive because it’s not entirely straightforward nor is it entirely realistic. Since it involves maneuvering in mid-air through the use of a wingsuit, there’s a separate learning curve. One specific gameplay aspect to watch out for is its travel and platforming.Īnother aspect of the game to watch out for is the in-game physics. The massive map lends to its longer playthrough length, with backtracking and sidequests designed to keep players engaged for a long. Low-poly visuals and warm and comforting color combinations, only this time set in a 3D open world. In terms of visuals, it sports the familiar art style from the Alto games. While it shares visual similarities to the Alto games, it promises a more story-driven experience as opposed to the endless running you get from the earlier Snowman titles. This means that it will come with a price tag at the Apple Store, although it’s definitely free for Netflix subscribers. One thing to note about Laya’s Horizon is that it was created as a part of the Netflix Games suite.
